The weekend

Weekend didn't go quite as what I expected. The PC fair was a huge disappointment. I assumed that it would have good laptop deals. However when I got there, I found that the price they were quoting was RM400 more expensive than what is offered online.

"Miss, you cannot get a bargain better than this elsewhere, we throw in 20 different freebies and you get a lucky draw free holiday as well"

"You are directly from Dell right? Why is the price here RM400 more expensive than what you offer online?"

"No, miss, it's not more expensive"

First of all, don't lie to a customer, we do our own research okay. Secondly, if you are planning to lie to a customer, make sure you are prepared with your facts.

I took out Yin How's wonderful Blackberry and showed her the Dell website stating a price RM400 cheaper with exactly the same specs. The salesgirl had nothing to say and called her supervisor and passed the Blackberry to him. He looked at the price online and said, "Oh, that is for online purchase. This is for cash and carry," and just walked away.

So that's his only explanation of me having to pay RM400 extra for that?

PC fair really cheat people wan okay. If I didn't do my own research beforehand, I would have thought I'd gotten the best deal there. Went back sooooo disappointed. Thought I would be carrying a laptop home. :(

Anyway, I made the purchase online. So I'm a happy girl again. :)

Hello world,

It's Friday. I'm looking into my crystal ball and I'm seeing a new laptop, a fancy dinner and a spanking new handbag in the very near future (courtesy of the hubby's first paycheck added with some emotional blackmail about a certain amount he loss during the recent events of which a certain octupus was made famous).

Looking forward for a good weekend. Hope you have a good one too. :D

The weekend

I went to Kopi Cine today. Forgot to take my camera so only took crappy photos with my handphone. I found the price of the food and drinks too pricey.

But I do love the concept of having coffee while browsing a book from their mini library. And I also got excited when I got to doodle on their tables using a cup full of colorful crayons.

Though it was embarrassing to know that the 7 year old kid from the other table could draw much better than me. My drawing sucks.

The hubby only doodled a few things.

Use your imagination and guess which doodles are his.

Capturing moments like these...

Makes buying a DSLR worth the money. :)

Also because it makes you want to capture every moment to fully utilize it just to make you feel less guilty about spending so much on a camera.

At least that's what I try to do whenever I suddenly remember that it's starting to collect a little dust.

Which is good because otherwise, precious moments like these may just slip away and be forgotten in time.

And yes, I'm a sentimental squishy squashy person.

The hike

I'm not a hiking-loving girl, I try to avoid it as much as possible but Yin How went on and on about how much he enjoyed hiking at Pantai Kerachut so I decided to follow him today.

When I got there I was whining non-stop about how muddy and slippery the jungle trail was, taking my own sweet time to avoid as much mud as possible. There was a was fallen tree trunk blocking the path and as I bent down to walk underneath it I heard Yin How say, "Snake, snake!". I was thinking, "Huh? Snake? Stupid guy trying to scare me, as if I'll fall for that.... OMG, SNAKE... THERE'S A SNAKE UNDERNEATH MY FEET!!"

I only saw the snake when I had one feet over it (I'm so glad I didn't step on it) and suddenly I forgot about how slippery and muddy the jungle floor was and ran under the tree trunk like a headless chicken screaming, "SNAKE, SNAKE!!" And there we were, Yin How on one side of the fallen tree trunk, me on the other side and the snake in the middle, staring at Yin How, daring him to cross over. The 3 of us stood there not moving for around 5 minutes until the snake got bored and went up a tree.

(I know this snake is not poisonous (I think) but it's not like I could google about it in the middle of the jungle)

I stopped taking my own sweet time after that. I just wanted to get to the beach as fast and I could.

I've been hiking with friends and colleagues but never with Yin How and I have to say that I really enjoyed the hike, the pretty beach and the boat ride back.

Hiking is not as bad as I remember. :)

The weekend

After the worst CC ever, feeling tired, overwhelmed and ugly, I wanted to kick back relax and spend time with my poor neglected hubby. I woke up early Saturday morning, put on my makeup and my pretty blue dress while the hubby was still asleep.

Had breakfast at Starbucks alone with the current book I'm reading, Eat Love Pray. I'm half way through the book and I love it. Hubby came down later, a little grouchy that I went down myself without waking him up.

Lunch at Edelweiss Cafe.

Edelweiss Cafe is located at Amernian Street. And if you've been there, you'll feel like mordenation has forgotten about this tiny hidden street in the middle of Georgetown. You'll get the feeling like you've been transported back into a 1940's chinese movie.

Anyway, after having lunch there, I was convinced that I could cook the same thing I had. Spent the whole Sunday wearing my pink pajamas and cooking. So there,

Beef fillet with mushroom sauce served on top of mash potatoes. Made my own salad dressing as well. :)

Went shopping and bought a new pair of shoes. Nothing cures stress better than shopping. But new shoes usually mean new blisters which I now have on both feet. :( But I am stubborn and I will continue to wear those pair of shoes even if I bleed (which happened before with another pair of shoes).

Overall, a good weekend for de-stressing. :)

How's your weekend?

Started the morning with Balik Pulau laksa

Then steamboat for two in my balcony for dinner.

Notice the intruder at the bottom corner trying to steal food

And of course there must be KIMCHI!!!

Eat until syiok syiok. Maybe will have dessert later. ;)

Hope you're having a great weekend as well. :)

Though hubby is currently glued to the TV watching the Man U vs. Malaysia football match. Zzzzz...
