Ignorance vs. reality

Let's face it, life is not always full of sugar and spice and everything nice. Sometimes life is just shitty. But there are people who think that as long as they do what is right, then everything will always be sunny and bright. And when these people are warned that things may not always be as simple as they think, they arrogantly insist that good things will happen to good people.

So the question is, would you rather be that naive sheltered person who believes that life will be good just because they have never through a bad experience? Ignorance is bliss after all.

Or would you rather someone who has been seasoned with bad experiences and survived it coming out hopefully stronger and wiser than before?

Probably a dumb question. Who would want to go through bad experiences? But the fact is that shit happens, more so to certain people.

I guess we can only hope for the best and plan for the worst. We will always learn something from bad experiences, so I suppose that's the positive of bad experiences. I believe in focusing on the positives of things. It makes you a happier person. :)

i believe in karma. so i believe in being true to yourself and being true to others. i do hope that things will always be sunny and bright for me, but at the back of my head, i know that it won't coz as u've said, life is never always full of sugar and spice and everything nice.

karma doesn't function for this life only. well, at least for me, i do believe in past life and that sort of stuff. so things that happen now, could have been a karma that was accumulated from one's previous life (i don't even know if i'm making sense at this point - teehee)

the one thing i hate is selfish people. i don't believe in selfishness coz we are put here to live in the face of the Earth with other ppl. so selfishness would do none of us any no good.

any type of experience, good or bad, functions to make us all a better person. like something u once said to me, anything that doesn't kills u only makes u stronger. =)

I guess what kind of person you become after a bad experience depends on how you choose the handle it. Some ppl emerge stronger than before with lessons learnt. Some ppl will crumble and give up. Or some ppl will become hard and bitter hanging on to the past. But definitely no longer so naive.

Sometimes I envy those ppl living in a bubble where the sky is always blue and the grass is always green and there's always a safety net beneath them just in case they fall in their already perfect world. Even if it means being ignorant, so what. As long as you're happy right?

Anyway, such is life. I guess everybody sees the world in a different way. :)
